Our region

Our heartland is perfect terroir in a picturesque landscape that inspires exploration.

The South Burnett region

The South Burnett region is in south-east Queensland, within a few hours drive of the state capital, Brisbane. It's a picturesque region to visit and a popular weekend destination. Come for a leisurely drive through vineyards, olive groves, farmland and small country towns, making stops at cellar doors and farm gates to sample the local produce. There are now more than a dozen different vineyards in the region as well as traditional dairy industry, cattle, peanuts and other niche market garden producers.

Places to visit

From Lake Boondooma to the regional town of Kingaroy, there are plenty of places worth stopping to explore. Small towns like Wondai, Nanango and Murgon (where our olive oils are pressed in the old butter factory) each have their attractions and place to stop for a coffee and a chat with the locals. Look out for festivals too - the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival and Burrandowan Picnic Races are just two of the favourites.

Where to stay

Clovely Estate has four different accommodation choices in the region. From our traditional Queensland-style Vineyard Cottage to the more secluded Stockman's Cottage on Barambah Station. Discover more here. You can book direct by emailing ushere. There are also motels at Kingaroy and Murgon.
