Our Alicante wine is made from grapes sourced from a stunning hilltop vineyard in the South Burnett. This naturally red fleshed (teinturier) variety requires little intervention to extract its deep inky colour. Gently handled in closed fermentation vessels it is then pressed to French oak barrels for maturation.
TASTING NOTES: A dark, burgundy coloured wine with plenty of white pepper, rich fruit and a gentle earthiness. Medium fine tannins and clean fresh acidity give structure and balance. The generous red and black fruit in the mid palate round out the body, and the 16 months spent maturing in French oak make this wine ready to drink now, but it will cellar equally as well for the next 5 years.”
SUGGESTED FOODS: Traditional Italian Taqliata with rocket parmeggiano and cherry tomatoes, or grilled Portobello mushrooms with blue cheese and caramelized onions on sourdough.
