Sangiovese is the most widely planted grape variety of Italy and particularly known for its role in the famous wines of Tuscany. Literally translating to the “blood of Jove” referring to the Roman God Jupiter, its heritage dates back to the 16th century. Fermented in stainless steel and pressed directly to tank this wine is unoaked allowing the natural fruit and tannins of this wine to be fully expressed.
TASTING NOTES: Vibrant crimson red with intoxicating aromas of black cherry and currants with hints of black tea. A medium weight palate with food friendly acidity delivers sour cherry, sweet red berry notes, earthy tannins and generous length.
FOOD SUGGESTIONS: Porchetta, parmesan cheeses and all things Italian.
